Configuring the error page for Wordpress hosted on godaddy

I have to remind  that for websites hosted on godaddy.com the right way to 
set the error page is the following:
1) change the general site settings on godaddy so that the error page is the home page
2) change or create on the website root the .htaccess file
making sure it contains the following:
ErrorDocument 404 /yourwordpressdirctory/index.php?error=404
